RULES FOR THE DAY

Consultation on the Rules of the road.

At T-junction at the confluence of traffic often creates so-called guides islands, which are structural element of the road. Their shapes and sizes are very different, and not always clear which side should go around this island, where you turn left. As in this case, the act!

On the road the driver is facing, as a rule, the two situations. First - when at a crossroads exists entirely necessary for this case, the organization of traffic and the driver is guided by road signs, markings and traffic lights. There is practically no difficulties arise, especially if the driver is informed in advance direction signs.

The second is more common, when, alas, no such organization, although some of its elements are used. In this case, often the drivers turning left, go along the shortest path, that is, tour the island on the left guide and perform at the same blunder as violating the principle of right-hand movement, established by paragraph 1.2 of the Rules. Often, such a surprise appearance at the oncoming traffic lane creates an emergency situation. So there must be remembered that the island guide, even relatively small size, divides the roadway into two separate and what not would be their length, both formally and in fact the movement is carried out only on the right.

Thus, turning left at the T-junction with the road or adjacent to the one that has continued in both directions, the guide should always leave the island on the left, if the markings and signs do not establish a different order.

Is it possible to pass uncontrolled intersection under the "guise" of a vehicle having an advantage in the movement, such as the tram?

Such a possibility is envisaged in the Rules in effect prior to the 70s. At present, this situation is not in them, and, consequently, the movement through the intersection in violation of the received sequence, under the "cover" the other vehicle is prohibited. Deviate from the sequence of movements when passing crossings can only be achieved if the trajectory, or, better said, the lane occupied by your vehicle, do not intersect and merge with the band (path) along which the vehicle should be entitled to priority traffic. In other words, if your maneuver will force the driver has priority, change direction or slow down, roundabouts can be carried out simultaneously.

Why are rules (§ 10.4) prohibit drivers of trucks with GVW exceeding 3.5 tonnes left to stand in the streets one-way traffic, with three or more bands!

This limitation is due to the fact that traffic on these streets are usually intense, with high speeds, especially on the left lanes. Commercial vehicles, especially heavy-duty, because of its impressive size take up much space and create a large neprosmatrivaemye zone. Hence, the likelihood increases dramatically sudden appearance of a pedestrian on the road or leaving the vehicle on the lane to the fast traveling vehicle.
